Makes 8 large cookies.
1/2 cup softened butter
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tablespoon corn starch
1 cup chocolate chips (I like 1/2 cup semi sweet and 1/2 cup milk)
Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Cream together the butter and sugars until fluffy. Add the egg and mix well. Add the baking soda, salt, vanilla and corn starch and mix well. Add the flour and mix until just combined. Add the chocolate chips and mix until just dispersed in the dough.
Use a large cookie scoop or muffin scoop and scoop 8 cookies onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake
For 10 minutes, until the edges are just golden and the top doesn’t look doughy. Sprinkle the top with some flaky salt. Let the cookies cool slightly in the baking sheet before transferring to a cooling rack.
