Honey Sesame Cookies

Chewy centers, golden edges, and a delicate nutty crunch.
These honey sesame cookies are a lovely twist on a classic homemade cookie. Made with toasted sesame seeds, brown sugar, and honey, they’re buttery, slightly nutty, and perfectly sweet.
Ingredients
1 cup soft salted butter
1/2 cup honey
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoons salt
½ cup toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
Preheat the oven. Heat your oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Toast the sesame seeds. Add sesame seeds to a dry skillet over medium-low heat. Stir frequently until lightly golden and fragrant. Watch carefully, once toasted they will burn quickly. Set aside to cool.
Cream the butter and sugars. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and well combined.
Add the wet ingredients. Add the honey, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
Add the dry ingredients. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gently stir in the sesame seeds.
Scoop and bake. Scoop the chilled dough using a 1/4 cup scoop (muffin scoop size). Bake for 10–13 minutes, until just golden around the edges, dropping the cookie sheet on the counter when they come out of the oven.
Cool. Allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
A Few Baking Tips
Toast the sesame seeds. This brings out their rich, nutty flavor.
Slightly underbake. Remove the cookies when the edges are set but the centers still look a little soft.
